Should my baby's poo be this solid?

He is almost 7 months old and has been eating solids since 6 months. He is fed so his poo was always yellow and loose. Now it is brown and it resembles the consistency of a softened tootsie roll although very firm. There is also less poo than before and has gone from 3 times a day to 1 or 2. He doesn't seem to be having a harder time that usual, and he even takes less time now. Is this normal?
