you are correct. my fiance is italian and we have gone through a year of process just to get married. it is very hard to immigrate legally, and if you are poor it is next to impossible. all those people who talk bad about immigrants dont realize that if it was their own family they would do the same to give them a better life. and also the more people who scream "keep the immigrants out" are not stopping illegal immigration, but rather making it harder for the legal ones, the process gets harder every month or so, they add more restrictions and make the wait time longer. my fiance, while being interviewed for his visa, met a couple that had been waiting for 12 years to get a visa.
