We are Irish immigrants living in New Zealand now facing bank forclosure on our home. What should we do?

Having emigrated to N.Z. two years ago with $500,000 N.Z. in our pockets and failed at a business, we now face eviction and foreclosure on our home. My husband was diagnosed with Bipolar Affective Disorder after becoming suicidal once the business collapsed. We used our house as collateral for a business loan of $150,000 to purchase the business. Our bank manager just kept increasing my husbands overdraft facility from $20,000 to $100,000 over a matter of months. I was an equal company director but I knew nothing of the mounting debt. My husband kept everything from me. We have three young children who have been affected by this horrible experience. I feel cheated of the security we had and think the bank manager should have seen warning signs. My husband was mentally ill at the time and now it feels like we will have to pay for a bad year for the rest of our lives. Does anyone have suggestions for how we can dig ourselves out of this mess?
