Can anyone please explain the mythological story of Scylla and Charybdis?

synopsis: Scylla was a beautiful sea nymph who was caught up in a love triangle Glaucus fell in love with Scylla, Circe fell in love with Glaucas and punished her rival by making her a monster. She finally threw herself into the sea and became ship killing rocks just outside the reach of Charybdis the whirlpool who had once been a god, but angered Zeus who threw her into the sea where she constantly gulped down the water.
