I've heard that extravagant gift giving is sometimes one of the signs of a manipulative personality...T/F?

It can sometimes be characteristic of a manipulative personality, but it could just be simple kindness. If this is the case, then the idea behind it is that if someone gives you a gift, you "owe" them something in the future.
